Our Story

Athletify is a physiotherapist owned operation and home to an active approach to healthy lifestyle promotion, performance care and injury rehabilitation. Our bright and clean facility houses a physiotherapist, registered massage therapists, a registered acupuncturist, as well as a specialized golf rehab lab with biomechanical assessment and golf fitness equiptment. We also run small group pilates classes in our pilates studio right here in Aurora.

Scott Dunne - Physiotherapist

Physiotherapist Scott Dunn

Scott received his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2007. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at St. Francis Xavier University with a major in Kinesiology and minor in biology in 2005. During his undergraduate years, Scott became a certified Personal Trainer, a certified Health and Fitness Consultant, and was the student therapist for the varsity basketball and football teams.

After physio school, his post-graduate studies have focused on manual therapy specialization through the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Early in his career he had an invaluable two year golf therapy and fitness mentorship in Calgary, AB. There he worked daily alongside of the creators of the FITforeGOLF group and became FITforeGOLF certified. Scott took his golf assessment and fitness specially to the next level by becoming TPI certfified. This training added a whole new dimension to his golf clinical practice. In addition to golf, another avenue of interest led Scott to a Pilates instructor certification. Using Pilates daily as a clinician, it has proven to compliment every aspect of physiotherapy and performance rehabilitation.

Understanding of how the body behaves in a variety of sports and activities is based on personal experience. Scott has experience both competitively and recreationally in many sports such as hockey, volleyball, triathlon, and golf just to name a few. Although his competitive sport days are behind him, Scott enjoys individual and team sports whenever possible. He works out at his local crossfit gym - CrossFit Ark - and continues to maintain an active lifestyle combined with good nutrition.


Lisa Kerkkamp - RMT

Massage Therapist Lisa Kerkkamp

Lisa graduated from Wellsprings College registered massage therapy program. She also obtained her acupuncture license and currently practices both.

She is a long time animal advocate and runs a small rescue for Siberian Huskies. Lisa integrated her rescue dogs to form a kids and dogs group. This group worked to help enhance social skills for autistic children.

Lisa's approach to massage therapy treatment is therapeutic. She incorporates a wide perspective of skill and technique into her work. At the end of each treatment she will provide each client with a few remedial exercises, as she feels self care is important to recovery.

She practice's traditional Chinese acupuncture. It is a wonderful way to relax and relieve aches and pains. Traditional Chinese acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years.
